THE PODCAST 

I started the Filmdependence podcast with one clear goal in mind: Give microbudget filmmakers a voice.

Plenty of podcasts talk with ‘low budget’ filmmakers;  to hear what what they’ve got to say, and what advice they can offer… and that’s all well and good; plenty of fantastic tips and advice out there on those shows; but when some of these “Low Budget” projects start at $1m; it does make you wonder a bit more about the applicability of everything they have to say. 

While of course I love hearing what these people have to say; I go for a much more ‘grass roots’ approach, and try to find filmmakers who are used to shooting on a literal shoestring. (And yes, I do mean literal. Camera-stabiliser hack anyone?? ;) ) these are the people with the practical experience of absolutely maximising their resources and getting their Big Ideas told; without compromising on quality.
